Q: What is the difference between the stalls and the balcony?

The stalls are located on the ground floor on one level and have easy access for those with accessibility issues. The balcony is located on the first floor, up a flight of stairs. The seats are raked – they get higher the further back you go.

Q: How long is the pantomime?

The show aims to last 1 hour each half with a 15 minute interval – however performances vary depending on how much the audience laugh and how well the actors stick to the script!

Q: What time does the show start and finish?

For our matinee shows the show starts at 2pm and finishes at approximately 4:15pm (see questions above: How long is the pantomime?). Our evening shows start at 7pm and finish at approximately 9:15pm.

Q: Do I need a seat for my baby/toddler?

Children under the age of 3 have the option of sitting on an adults knee. If you would like them to have their own seat, it will cost the price of a child ticket.

Q: Who is the show suitable for?

We aim to entertain the whole family from small children, teenagers, adults and grandparents, as our reviews show. We feel that you should never be embarrassed by the humor contained in the show. Several of our shows are signed by a British Sign Language Interpreter. For people with autism, we provide as much detail about the show to prepare them for any loud bangs/flashes or effects.

Q: Where is the disabled access?

There is a wheel chair ramp with direct access to the auditorium at the left hand side of the Town Hall (looking at the front door, passed the Library Entrance). A chair lift is available at the right hand side of the Town Hall. In both cases a member of your part should contact the front of house staff and we will arrange for the entrances to be open and assist you to your seats.

Q: Can you accommodate wheelchairs?

Yes, we’re happy to accommodate wheel chair users, but we need to be informed in advance of the performance. For safety reasons, wheelchairs must be located at the left hand side of a row in the stalls (Seat 20). The seat can be removed and provides easy of access from the wheel chair ramp ( see question above: Where is the disabled access?).

Q: Where can I park?

There are a number of car parks located around the town hall within a short walking distance. There is small car park in front of the Town Hall, one to the rear, one by the Train Station and a large car park at the former Tesco site, located behind the Town Hall off of Burn Lane.

Q: Are there refreshments available?

Drinks, snacks and glow merchandise can be purchased (for very reasonables prices) from the Panto shop located just inside the front doors of the Town Hall. At the interval we serve Mitchell’s Ice Cream.

Q: Is the Ice Cream Gluten Free?

We’re delighted to report that Mitchell’s Ice Cream is Gluten Free.

Q: I can no longer attend the perfromance - can I have a refund?

Our tickets are non-refundable. However, if you call the ticket hotline – we can try to assist by reselling your ticket. Note this is not always possible, but if we can help – we will try!
