Cinderella

December  2008

This was the first production by the new Trap 4 company, headed by Keith Donaldson.   Musical Director Ian Milne returned to the role he had held before, as did choreographer Suzanne Hamilton who had worked on several previous Trap 4 productions.  Craig Pike took over as director and the script was written by Garry Watson.

Cinderella (Sophie Hamilton) and Prince Charming (Stephanie Ross)  were certainly not newcomers to the Inverurie panto, having been taking part since they were very small, and James Yule (Susannah) has been appearing, on and off, since the very first production.  The principal cast was completed by Gavin Davidson (Trinny), Cat Arnell (Dandini), Richard Garden (Buttons), Jill Hay (an imperious Fairy Godmother) and Laura Jarret, who combined the roles of the nasty Baroness with that of assistant musical director.

Lighting was designed  by Donald Munro and the spectacular set was the work of Susan Ball.  One of the highlights was the golden coach which descended at the end of Act 1 to take Cinderella to the ball.  A lasting memory for the crew was the pumpkin, covered in papier maché, which had to be dried out with the assistance of a hair dryer, before being flown just before the dress rehearsal.
